After being quite quiet on the competition front recently, this weekend was rather busy....just they way we like it :) We were out both Saturday and Sunday at Dressage competitions and I was also out teaching both Saturday and Sunday afternoon......
Star performed a lovely test for me, she started of a bit tense as the music was quite loud in the arena which she wasn't too keen on, especially when we went past each speaker, and also the noise of the photographers camera each time he took a picture made her jump but she started to get used to it! The judge loved her canter and she, once again got scored plenty of 8's! We picked up a score of 68.26% which placed us 2nd so I was very pleased as we were up against some very stiff competition!!! Roll on our next outing..... On arriving home from Saddlesdane Star was turned out and she trotted of to tell all the others around her what she'd been up to and I was of to teach lessons at a Clients house down the road. Both Madeleine and Charlotte rode very well and we played with lots of different exercises over show jumps and adjusting our horses strides between fences..... As well as teaching some jumping lessons I also did a bit of jumping at home with Connor. He was an angel and thoroughly enjoyed his jumping :) With a very busy Saturday over with, well outside anyway, inside there was more tack to clean and things to wash ready for the next days competition! This time it was 'big' Milli's turn to be out competing and it was her first competition in a while as she's had nearly 3 months of due to a splint forming! She was very pleased to be back in work and has come back better than ever so I think the break did her good!! We qualified for the Prelim Championships on our first outing together back in May at Shotfield Farm Equestrian Centre. Milli performed a lovely test for me despite finding the outsides of the arena a bit scary!! I had to dash of straight after my test for a rather lush roast dinner around my boyfriends parents house so asked mum to let me know my score, not expecting anything too special as she's not been back in work long! I was cuffed when I found out that we had won the class with a whopping score of 71%!!!!! We were Prelim Champions :) Charlotte stepped in for me and did the prize giving whilst I was tucking into my lunch!! After the prize giving for my class Charlotte had to get Milli to focus again after the excitement of the lap of honour as she was doing the next Prelim class on her! they did a lovely test mum said, especially considering Charlotte hasn't been back riding long after breaking her ankle! With a belly full of roast dinner a lazy afternoon is what most normal people would do, but no, not me.....I was out walking it all off whilst teaching some XC at Denne Hill! Madeleine and Charlotte had enjoyed their jumping lessons the day before so they invited me to teach them whilst they were doing a bit of XC training with their relatively new rides. they both did really well and I even managed to get some great pictures of them whilst teaching......Well Done girls :) We also took our home bred 4 year old DidHe for his first XC outing and once he realised what the idea was him and Sophie had a great time!
