Neck strap at the ready.......

Just wanted to give you a bit of an update on how things are this end.....After I've been away for a weeks holiday and just started a new job to do alongside the horses!

Things have been relatively quiet on the horse front as I decided there wasn't any point bringing Milli back into work properly at the beginning of September as 1. I was going away on holiday at the end of the month and 2. There wouldn't have been enough time to get her fully fit to enter an event so she's enjoyed a lovely holiday chilling in the field and getting very fat with Roxie!
Talking of Roxie, her knee is looking fantastic....it is hardly visible as a wound on the picture above!!! Just a small scab now which considering the damage done and the poor outlook initially she has amazed us all with her recovery......just as determined as her rider (me) was after the car accident, we wont to be beaten!

They will both start to do some walk work now, Roxie a little less than Milli as she's had 4 months off so has a lot of muscles to re-build but I hope to do a bit of dressage with her throughout the winter providing her knee is good!

I am also looking forward to a winters worth of dressage and SJ competitions with Milli once she is fully fit again! She's enjoyed her holiday and as you can see from the picture below she has a rather big tummy to prove it!!

She has thoroughly deserved her holiday, performing very well this season with another year picking up no XC jumping penalties which isn't bad considering she's only 6 years old and has got many BE Novice runs under her belt now including top ten placings......roll on next year!

Star is also looking very fluffy so the clippers will definitely be out over the next few weeks, one of those winter jobs I am not too keen on doing!! Star has enjoyed a short break whilst I was away after picking up a 2nd place at our first affiliated competition, BD Novice at Saddlesdane :)

As I Mentioned earlier, I have just returned from a lovely weeks holiday in Ibiza with boyfriend Ryan and some friends! It was very much needed and although we didn't do much relaxing as there is so much to do there we all had a great time. The weather wasn't too bad either, plenty of hot sunshine but there were a few storms, which as you can see from the picture below, passed quickly luckily because the island is small so they didn't disrupt our plans too much! We had a great spot to watch the storms too as this picture was taken from the seating area at the back of our apartment, right on the beach front :) We did some jet skiing, which I'm not going to lie, I wasn't a big fan off.....I was fine when driving and going fast but wasn't so keen on being a passenger behind Ryan going fast!! We also went on a speed boat tour, diving with the fish, to a boat party as well as many bars and restaurants around the island! We also found Ocean Mania, which I'm not sure if you've seen the TV programme, Total Wipeout? but it was a replica of that with many steeping stones in the water, slides, trampoline's, ropes, launch pads etc etc and I've never laughed so much!! Such good fun and we will definitely be returning next year :)

On the job front, I have been lucky enough to get myself a new job to do alongside the horses working in an office in Sandwich, which is about 10mins away from home.....perfect!! There have been many reason for looking for another job alongside the horses, but mainly for financial reasons as this years eventing wasn't cheap and looking forward to next year I would like to move Milli up to intermediate and the aim, as it has been from the start with her, is to qualify for the 7 year old championships! Plus the thought of working in an office when it is cold, wet and windy outside is looking very appealing after working outside for the last few winters!!
